Shopping in Hawley, PA: Antiques, Silk Mill Boutiques and Holiday Gifts Near Lake Wallenpaupack
November 2, 2026
Hawley is the Lake Wallenpaupack area's shopping town. Within about a mile of Main Avenue you will find an 8,000-square-foot antique mall, a furniture store run by the same family on the same corner since 1849, a restored 1880 silk mill full of small galleries and shops, and a handful of specialty stores worth the trip on their own. This guide covers where to go, what each shop is known for, the hours they post, and how to fit a shopping day into the 2026 holiday season, from Small Business Saturday on November 28 to Hawley Winterfest on December 11 to 13.
Shopping in Hawley at a glance
Where: downtown Hawley along Main Avenue and Church Street, the Hawley Silk Mill at 8 Silk Mill Drive, and Bellemonte Avenue (Route 6), where the big antique mall sits. Best for: antiques and vintage, local art and handmade gifts, home goods and holiday decorations. When: many small shops close on Mondays, Tuesdays or both, so a Thursday-to-Sunday visit catches nearly everyone.
The hours below are what each shop, or its listings, posted in fall 2026. Small shops often trim their schedules after the holidays, so call before a special trip.
Hawley Antique Exchange: start with the big one
The Hawley Antique Exchange at 209 Bellemonte Avenue is the anchor of any Hawley shopping day. It is a multi-dealer antique mall whose dealers have been filling 8,000 square feet since 1993, with art, porcelain, pottery, glass, toys, vintage fashion, furniture, lamps, books and holiday pieces; one dealer keeps vintage Christmas items on display year-round. The exchange also shows a large Vaseline glass collection and says its museum room is open most Saturdays from 11am to 4pm.
The mall is open seven days a week, 10am to 5pm. Phone (570) 226-1711. [haexchange.com, checked 2026-11-02]
More antiques and vintage: Church Street, Main Avenue and Route 590
Miss Elly's Antiques & Such, at 518 Church Street, has been at its current location since 1999, in a circa-1870 Victorian with Gothic Revival details. It displays furniture, paintings and prints, textiles and linens, art pottery, glassware and mid-century pieces the way they would look in a home. Listings show it open Wednesday through Sunday, 10am to 5pm; phone (570) 226-7513. [missellysantiques.com; PA Route 6 Alliance; listing hours, 2026]
Jukebox Classics & Vintage Slot Machines, at 210 Main Avenue, opened in 2004 in a building dating to about 1898 and feels part store, part museum of childhood: jukeboxes, pinball and slot machines, gumball and Coke machines, neon, gas pumps, signs and music boxes, alongside general antiques. It keeps afternoon hours, roughly noon to 5pm, on most days except Monday; call (570) 226-9411 to confirm. [Happenings Magazine; visitwaynecounty.com; listing hours, 2026]
Out of town, The Loft Antiques at 1751 Route 590, about five miles east of Hawley, is a family-run shop of antique furniture, glass and stoneware that promises no reproductions. It is generally open Saturday and Sunday, 11am to 4pm, with other times by request at (570) 685-4267. [The Loft Antiques listings, 2026]
Teeters' Furniture: 175 years on one corner
Teeters' Furniture at 327 Main Avenue is a piece of Hawley history you can still shop. Richard Adam Teeter set up his cabinet shop at the corner of Main Avenue and Church Street in 1849, the same family has run the business on that corner ever since, and it marked 175 years in 2024. The store was rebuilt after a fire in 1986. Today it sells furniture, bedding and home decor, much of it American-made, and takes custom orders. Inside the Hawley Silk Mill
The Hawley Silk Mill was built in 1880 by Dexter, Lambert & Co. as the Bellemonte Silk Mill, with a Greek-cross plan and a 61-foot waterwheel. Its bluestone building now holds shops, wellness studios and offices, and it is the easiest place in town to shop on a cold or rainy day. [hawleysilkmill.com About page]
The mill's own tenant directory lists Art on the Edge, a first-floor gallery of contemporary local art that also carries gifts, home accessories and jewelry; the Looking Glass Art Gallery, established in 1998, with original paintings, sculpture and photography; Lake Lights Candles, a family candle shop where you may catch a batch being poured; Uplift Practical Luxuries, with French and Italian soaps, lotions and bath products; Yarn Over the Falls; and Gorgeous Floral. Cocoon Coffee House & Bakery is where to refuel between shops. [hawleysilkmill.com tenant directory; discovernepa.com; poconomountains.com, 2026]

It is open April 15 through December 15, Wednesday to Saturday 10am to 5pm and Sunday 1 to 5pm, and closed on Thanksgiving Day; admission is $5 for adults and free for anyone 18 and under. Small Business Saturday falls on November 28, 2026, the Saturday after Thanksgiving, and it is the natural day for a Hawley loop.
